EASTER REFLECTION – NISAN 14
Nisan 14 marks the beginning of Passover and commemorates the anniversary of Jesus’ death, often referred to as the Memorial. While this date typically falls in March or April on the Gregorian calendar, the Hebrew calendar is lunar. In 2026, Nisan 14 begins on April 1.
April is a meaningful time for reflection. It is a time when people of all nations consider the life, purpose, and example of Jesus. His life on earth offers enduring lessons that continue to benefit us today. The Bible provides powerful reminders. It strengthens our faith. It reassures us that the events we see unfolding around us need not fill us with fear. Instead, it fills us with hope and joy.
For those who trust in Jehovah’s word, there is confidence in His promises. Scriptures remind us that He is not slow in fulfilling them. He does not desire any to be destroyed. Instead, He wishes that all attain repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Justice belongs to Him, and His timing is perfect (Deuteronomy 32:35).
WHY DID HE COME?
Jehovah’s thoughts are higher than human thoughts (Isaiah 55:8). When wronged, humans often respond impulsively, sometimes violently. Yet Jehovah’s response to Adam and Eve’s rebellion revealed patience, purpose, and foresight. He did not destroy immediately. Instead, He allowed life to continue. He set in motion a plan far greater than humans could fully comprehend.
Imperfection and corruption are part of the human condition. However, Jesus’ example shows us that we can strive to remain honest. We can also speak truth with respect and show honor—even when it is undeserved. His life teaches us that no human authority determines our ultimate worth or destiny.
THE SEED – A LESSON IN PERSPECTIVE
Consider a pear that, when cut open, reveals a damaged seed. At first glance, it may seem spoiled. Yet another person simply removes the seed and continues to prepare it and enjoy the fruit.
The lesson is simple but profound. Just as the fruit remains good, we can remove corrupt thoughts or harmful intentions from our hearts. By doing so, we protect ourselves and choose love, kindness, and peace in our dealings with others.

THE MEANING OF JESUS’ DEATH
Jehovah’s actions were never careless or impulsive. They were measured, thoughtful, and motivated by love for His creation. Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection demonstrate that love in action.
Through one man, sin entered the world, bringing condemnation. Through one act of righteousness, people of all kinds are offered the opportunity to be declared righteous (Romans 5:18–19). Jesus’ sacrifice provided spiritual restoration and hope for life beyond sin.
His resurrection—recorded by our ancestors and affirmed by the faith of believers today—is a cause for genuine joy. On Nisan 14, we remember, reflect, and give thanks with grateful hearts.
THIS SEASON, MAY IT BRING YOU PEACE, JOY, AND RENEWED HOPE.
