Hello, my dear friends. I hope all is well and you are enjoying the Autumn season. Very soon, here in the city of Toronto, the trees will present us with their beautiful array of colours. In some areas, in some places, they have already started to show the beauty of the season

The season that causes reflection and appreciation for the eyes to behold God’s creation and man’s upkeep of the beauty around us. It is with this reflection and appreciation that I share two poems written a few years ago.

The first was written in October 2025, titled My Eyes.

My eyes, what a gift of sight I have been given to wake from darkness to see your sun rise.

Oh, what I would not give to lose my sight.

To see your sun rise, the beauty of your sunset

Oh, what I would not give to lose my sight.

To see the colours of a leaf as it changes in its season. The colours of flowers as they bloom; of a rose when it opens its petals. A butterfly when it spreads its wings. An insect, an animal, all colours of Thy creation.

Oh, what I would not give to lose my sight

To see beyond the skies on a day your lightning flashes forth.

Your rainbow after the rain.

Oh, what I would not give to lose my sight.

A gift so rare, so precious words cannot express enough. To express my appreciation for this rare gift of mine.

Oh, what I would not give to lose this sight so rare, my Lord; to you I forever thank.

This poem, initiated one morning from a sight in the park, was written in August 2022, years after I left the establishment; titled These Eyes. A club by the same name called These Eyes, I once worked at on weekends after my weekly full-time job.

These Eyes is a place that entertains. Music, wine, liquor and drugs. To appease the human mind and soul.

Come on over to These Eyes; be entertained if only for a night. Forget your troubles, leave them all behind.

Money for a dip, money for a sip, dance for a trick, that would not leave you behind.

These Eyes have seen trouble hidden behind closed doors. Jealousy and lust, a combination to fuss. Lord, help those blinded by desire. If only for a night, forgive and forget.

Come morning, These Eyes have seen trouble, lying in the park. Rage is intended; stupidity is that one’s fault. Those caught, who is to tell if for your soul escape will be found.

Be wise, be aware, be alert. For these eyes of mine do not lie; what they see, they tell.

These Eyes is a place that entertains. Music, wine, liquor and drugs. To appease the human mind and soul.

Thanks for reading. Until my next post, take care of yourself and each other.
