Silence is not weakness but rather your strength that allows you to see, listen and to act from clarity.
The other day I woke up and was forced to battle mentally with one of Satan’s workers that cause a risen thought “Who do my neighbor thinks I am.”
My mind’s question moved me to think of Jesus’ conversation with the crowd and the question put forth to his disciples: Who do you say I am? Our phone devise an extremely useful and at times convenient instrument in hand I research the question on Google.
As I did, I came across an article of someone’s explanation of who God is to them. Most of the answers given here are also my own. To me God is my: Friend, Teacher, Healer, Prince of Peace and a Storyteller. The added comment made by the individual, was never thought of in this manner but did make sense in reflection of Jesus’ history: “The Criminal—He was tried and convicted. The Rebel—his action in the synagogue.”
What stood out in the article was this statement within a sentence: Your prison is your resentment.
To reflect on the statement within my circumstances, I took the position standing outside looking at actions taken that can be heard due to a buildup of entertained thoughts from those around me. Thoughts occurring during my neighbors’ actions; I realize they are prisoners of the unwanted thoughts occurring at said moment. Actions of mine from thoughts which I can kill are the intended results of what they hoped my reaction to be.
“A physical man does not receive the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot get to know them because they are examining spiritually.” -First Corinthians 2:14.
For someone to understand that scripture, they must have strong love, a firm belief and trust in God’s revelation. Only then will a physical man feel the effect of the spirit’s operation in mind and body.
To reveal what I mean. On my way home from an event of a Book Launch, a young lady entered the streetcar. On seeing her condition, I got up and offered my seat. She refused. The man besides me also did later, and she refused. Stops ahead, she got off. That night on getting home I sat quietly eating as I thought of her, that the domestic abuse that was occurring next door I could care less what happened to him. He already did not care having me moved next to him and so the feeling is mutual. I wondered if she was born that way or due to some accident she lost her leg. Movies I usually talk through when certain action touches me emotionally or mentally, I sat through in silence that night. The next day, my right leg from the hip hurt painfully, until the next day. With pain killers and exercise, I was able to end the pain, some.
Love, although it attracts pain from mental sight or deep concern over others, can heal itself. Again, everyone must assess themselves before laying blame.
First before I go further, for everyone’s understanding I must give the meaning of the word Resentment.
The meaning of Resentment is: To have displeasure because of a real or fancied wrong. To take offense, To have bitterness, grudge, envy, animosity, and pique—wounded pride; to stir (curiosity or interest,) or to be irritated.
Each one needs to question why such attitude exists in themselves. It is not up to one victimize by a person accused whose resentful attitude disrupts their life to figure out. Because the disruption is an irritation to the victim which allow for due diligence in the belief in a set of facts (mistaken or real) in trying to avoid an offending event chooses to verbalize their experience, any conclusion to condemn as “crazy” should not be found by any person sitting in the position to judge.
For none is sinless of those attitudes mentioned above. If one (person) is, then they can break free from the attitude/s that imprison the mind being able to move forward in a positive manner. However, anyone whose above actions cause physical harm to others should be found by the one sitting to judge—guilty.
We are creatures born to rise from misfortune in our lives. With given opportunities and the will to survive we can choose to be creative. With faith in our belief and trust in our Creator’s help. In doing so, those whose resentment is of his/ or her own displeasure in someone’s creative use of a situation is presumptuous in their attack of the victim whose creative professional work written or verbally expressed is harmed.
Any individual/s who inflict physical harm should face the consequence of punishment.
For clarity, this story:
Two individuals live side by side. One is a Christian. From infancy was taught to work for the things desire. And so, with that taught belief has always worked towards the accomplishment of desired things. And when poverty showed its ugly head, the individual was creative with experiences in life, to the point of authoring two books. Because the individual’s creative work directly involved some whose pride was bruised or exposed. To support their status within society they advance in cruel acts in attempt to show the public the individual suffered mental issues. Because the abuse were of a silent nature from the abusers, many due to lack of the individual’s history, lack of listening attentively when verbal complaints were spoken out loud, and lack of reading the individual’s written work; concluded that the individual was mentally unstable, that even some of those in authority were led to believe the lie orcastrated by those whose egos or pride were hurt.
It is written pride is before a fall and indeed it is, because a haughty or presumptuous spirit comes before stumbling.
Through the individual’s faith, honesty, and resilience the results in the spirit of those whose actions were to cause an imbalance in the victim’s life backfired on them.
Truly the journey that really matters is finding yourself.
Thanks for reading. Until my next post take care of yourself and each other!
